HOWI Universe: see your worlds
A spatial home base for a host's whole portfolio, and a way to create a new world by describing it instead of filling out forms.
As hosts added more properties, a flat list stopped making sense — both practically and as a way of thinking about a portfolio.
The problem
There was no single home base for a host managing multiple properties, and creating a new one meant filling out the same static form every time.
What shipped
- The Universe → Worlds → Environments model: a host's whole portfolio is a universe, each property is a world, and each room or unit is an environment — the structure HOWI still uses today
- A 3D visualization of a host's universe, with each world rendered as its own orb
- World Focus — swipe between worlds, see device status at a glance
- Conversational world creation — describe a space in your own words and HOWI structures the blueprint, instead of starting from a blank form
- Vertical-aware presets (short-term rental, hotel, long-term) with sensible defaults
Why it matters
This is the mental model — universe, worlds, environments — that every later HOWI feature (kiosks, staff roles, policies, events) hangs its scoping on. Creating a world conversationally also meant a host's first five minutes with HOWI looked nothing like filling out a spreadsheet.
Availability
Shipped December 7–15, 2025. The 3D visualization has since been simplified as the product evolved; the underlying Universe/Worlds/Environments model is unchanged and still foundational.
